Flame Health Optometry are looking to speak to ambitious and driven Senior Optometrists who are looking for the next step within their career. We are recruiting for a Professional Services Manager for a leading Contact Lens Manufacturer based in the southern area of the UK.
Our client is going through an exciting period of expansion, investment and development within the UK market and they are now looking for a Clinical Affairs and Professional Services Manager to lead and develop the brand, internal and external team and raise awareness of the products with practitioners in the UK, by elevating the professional image and profile of our client throughout the optics industry.
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, this challenging nationwide role will require you to define the annual strategy & plans for professional services, manage the professional services team, build and develop relationships with key commercial opinion leaders and build relationships with professional services managers within national and key accounts to support the company and divisions growth on a year on year basis
The Role:
- Define the annual strategy & plans for professional services, to include; KPI’s, focus areas, major events, clinical papers, training plans, presentations, major customer collaboration, KOL activity.
- Manage the professional services team ensuring the team is fully leveraged and utilized in training programs and initiatives.
- Build and develop relationships with key commercial opinion leaders and develop our relationships with universities.
- Build relationships with professional services managers within national and key accounts to support, contribute and influence their training initiatives.
- Design and deliver major company events in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Design, write and deliver educational and CET presentations and programs to develop the clinical knowledge of our clients products amongst our customers and sales teams.
- Write & publish articles and peer review papers, on the clinical and commercial aspects of contact lenses, and the requirements within a practice to maximize the contact lens market opportunity.
- Advise senior management on any issues that can impact the performance of the business.
- Contribute to product positioning & strategy discussions ensuring that we fully leverage the clinical benefits of our products in relation to market trends and competitive developments.
- Collect and share information about our and competitor lenses for internal use.
- Provide clinical input into professional relations, product launches and sales materials.
- Liaise with and update regulatory and professional organizations as required.
- Support the EMEA Professional Services team as required on an adhoc basis.
The Person:
- The successful applicant for the role will be a driven and focussed individual with a proven track record of working within a commercial environment where working to KPI’s and strict deadlines is a common occurrence.
- Experience of managing a small team with the ability to move from strategic to operational issues effortlessly.
- Strong personal presence and communication skills.
- Ability to empathize with customers individual requirements for support and training.
- Understanding of the challenges of mass delivery programs.
- Highly pro-active and able to work successfully alone as well as within a team to pre-determined objectives.
- Strong networking skills.
- Strong under pressure.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Previous experience in a CL manufacturer or optical retailer.
- Clinical experience within both independent and national retail chains.
- Competent designer and deliverer of training programs for multi-level audiences.
- Demonstrable ability to network and capitalize on opportunities.
- Optometry Degree
